The enemies are tougher, there are the elite enemies and more champions to begin with-while this means you level a little faster and the loot is tuned higher, it doesn't take away the challenge of 'imagine Veteran with sometimes near-Gauntlet rooms of enemies.' (Subsequently, my one of my Zerks is a Storm Hatchet zerk so he can pretend to be Gauntlet's Warrior. Sheesh-The game gets pretty tough in Veteran + with Synergies if you don't put on the lower population mod. They knew that their no-respec decision was a little mixed among the fanbase these days, but it was cool they found a compromise that even they did.
